I usually dont sleep much. A deep 8 hour sleep is what is required to drive my day. At one point of time, i used to sleep at around 9 : 30 itself. Thats actually when the evening sets in for most of the hostalites. he he... But being a hostalite really dint bring in a change in my schedule. In my first year of college, i used to sleep very early and my roomies would try to wake me up. But nothin actually happens. I ll get up, give this look as if i m angry and get back to work again :P .. Its very difficult to wake me up during my first 2 hours of sleep. I wont get up that easily.. requires a lot of jerking and shouting in my ear!!!! But there is one thing which is very essential... atleast for hostalites.. Once i get the required amount of sleep i get up automatically.. I dont even need an alarm to ring bells.. It all happens internally.. Off late, i havent been sleeping very well.. Sleep duration has been slashed by an hour. This has had quite an impact on me. I used to be very active throughput the day before and all. Everything has taken a back seat now. I dont sleep during most of my exams. Very recently did i realise the importance of sleeping well before an examination. For my last examination this sem, i had 13 chapters to read. And i had read only one by 11 :30 PM and the exam was to commence at 2:00 PM the next day. Since it was the last exam, i was very complacent about it. I thought i ll sleep for 1/2 an hour and continue reading. But i slept off happily. I got up suddenly jus to find the clock point its hour hand to 5 and minute hand to 6. I jus jumped out of my bed in panic and started studying. I was very confident that i wont finish the portions. But to my surprise, i finished going through everything once half an hour before the scheduled exam time. I couldnt believe myself for i kept checking the syllabus to find undone chapters but i couldnt find any. That is when i realised how important that sleep was for it gave me the drive to read things quickly the following day. And recently, one of our batch guys from the mechanical department got some mental illness due to lack of sleep. I told this to my mom and she asked me- " You also din sleep much na.. Are you ok??" ... he he.. Jokes apart, so vital is sleep in one`s life. Most of my friends sacrifice sleep for things as cheap as gaming and stuff realted to that. I don no when they ll take the path of the mech dept guy!!!!

Hello .. gaming is not cheap .. sacrificing sleep for gaming is asinine but gaming is not cheap and all .. one of the best timepasses ever is gaming .. !!!!!!!! .. and the mech guy was diagnised with schizophrenia it seems !! (like the guy from "beautiful mind")
i meant its cheap to sacrifice sleep for the sake of gaming... i too know that gaming can be fun..
the article is nice .. but i am very very very disappointed bcos, its on sleep and i am not mentioned!!!

U can sacrifice anything as long as the thing holds a passion for you. I am sure our dept ppl won't suffer from any illness due to lack of sleep by the no of ppl who enter late to class. @hariharan, who can miss you in that sir?One girl returned back after seeing you entering the class. She thought " naan ivlo late aa??". No offence meant :)
