Amazing Progress

It’s all happening in this year. India is making rapid strides in everything. Right from politics to sports, 2008 has begun on a positive note.
Firstly, it was the phenomenal success of the Railway Budget by the railway minister. It won minimal criticism and for the first time as far as I know, have such a small majority actually opposed it. The success of Indian railways has been massive for the past couple of years. Mr. Laloo has been presenting terrific budgets for quite sometime now as the Railways department is earning huge profits. More importantly, he has been doing a great job in streamlining the available resources which proves to be instrumental in the success of railways.
Secondly, it was MS Dhoni and his men who brought laurels to the country. Terrific team effort, determination and guile captaincy steered the series in favour of India. Beating Australia at home is something that needs to be celebrated. Sorry guys. We would have celebrated if not for CPC exams immediately after the match!!!!
Then came the surprise package. The union budget presented by the FM. An amazing personality, I have always liked his halcyon approach to everything. The loan waiver is a great relief to agrarian farmers. Even if some people claim that its eye wash and that it has been introduced bearing in mind the 2009 elections, it clearly isn’t something that you can plan by on a Sunday evening by lying on your couch and present it on Monday. As to how it will be implemented, only time will tell. 60000 Crores isn’t a small amount of money and I don’t think the FM will take such a risk without having arranged sufficient funds.
Kudos to the Under-19 team for clinching the Cricket Under-19 World Cup. Yet another laurel. These events are rare gems in India`s crown.
Marked by all these events, India gets a bumper start. Hope it sustains it and makes all of us proud of our Nation.

I guess there's a sudden buzz around India now considering its growth in economy! The world is sitting up and taking notice, and the country's young population is finally seen as a boon than otherwise!
