A secret observer

This post is about an inmate of my hostel. He resides in my wing, five rooms apart. Hence we know each other quite well. He is not charming. He is not funny. He isnt enticing nor is he loquacious, yet he has earned his first fan.
A synopsis of his history: He is from Karur. I am not sure of the name of the school, definitely not a popular one. Unfortunately he lost his father when was 10 years old. He has two younger brothers. One is in 11th and the other in 7th. His mother din't have the opportunity to study and the only source of income for the family is pension.
Amidst all these problems, he works so hard. He knows that he can succeed only by working hard, hence he does it. He studies whenever required. Even though his schooling wasnt great, he writes so very neatly. He nevers errs as far as his spellings are concerned. He can speak fluent english. It may not be grandeloquent but it is error-free which is what matters the most.
In spite of the competition in my class, he has an 8 point CGPA. Needless to state that it was a result of sheer hardwork, dedication and the willpower to succeed. He knows how difficult it is to live without sufficient money. Hence he works towards it and i m quite sure that he will land up in a decent company with a good package and relieve his mom`s burden. I watch him very closely when he talks. His behaviour, his silence and his etiquette hypnotises me everytime i think about it. I am happy that my college has given him this opportunity. He has utilized it to the fullest and has emerged successful. People like him make me feel that the future of India is in safe hands.
